JACK BARONE
Contractor
Jack Barone, a general building contractor in Marin County for more than 38 years, died Sept. 12 in Kentfield. He was 68.
Mr. Barone was born in Galveston, Texas, and lived in San Francisco before moving to Marin.
He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School, and a Golden Gloves boxer who was sponsored by the Olympic Club. He was also accomplished in basketball and in track.
Mr. Barone served in the Coast Guard and was a member of the Mill Valley Tennis Club and the Marin Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly; sons John J. Barone and James E. Rogan; brother, Joe Barone; sisters, Angela O’Connor and Gloria Dawson; and three grandchildren.
Services were listed as private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Marin.
