WILLIAM E. BRAGGA

William E. Bragga, lifelong Petaluma resident and dairy rancher, died Friday in a Petaluma hospital after a long illness. He was 75.

Bragga was born and reared in Petaluma and attended school in Tomales. He operated a ranch on Tomales Road all his adult life and was semi-retired in recent years.

He was a past master of the Two Rock and Sonoma County Pomona Grange and was a member of the California State grange. He also was a longtime member and secretary-treasurer for the Two Rock Volunteer Fire Department.

He also belonged to the Sons of Italy and formerly was a member of the Petaluma Spartan Club.

Recently, Bragga received a recognition award from the Petaluma Youth Soccer League for his contributions to the league.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; two daughters, Dorothy Wheeler of Petaluma and Beverly Candage of San Diego; his mother, Mary Bragga of Petaluma; one sister, Juanita Arfsten of San Francisco, and four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Petaluma. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Parent Funeral Home in Petaluma.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Petaluma Valley Hospital or a favorite charity.
