HERL – Elayne R., daughter of Dorothy Edelman and sister of Francine (Paul) Curtis of San Rafael, died Oct. 18, 1998, in Lake Forest Hospital, Ill., after a brief illness. She was 65. Ms. Herl was born in Chicago and lived for a brief period in San Rafael before returning to the Chicago area. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James; three children, Steven, Melinda (Tony) Uzzo and Marlene Staniere; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be sent to City of Hope or Temple Rodef Sholom, San Rafael.
