JOAN DUNN
At her request no funeral service was held for Joan Dunn, 72, a retired executive secretary for American President Lines.
Mrs. Dunn died Sunday at a local convalescent hospital after an illness.
She was the widow of Richard T. Dunn, a self-employed accountant in San Francisco.
Mrs. Dunn was a native of Sausalito who had lived in San Francisco most of her life. She moved to the convalescent hospital several months ago.
Surviving are her brother, George Roethel of San Diego, and sister, Mitzi Wright of Sausalito.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on May 10 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, San Francisco. Private entombment will be Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, Suite No. 6, San Rafael, Calif., 94903; the American Cancer Society; or the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine, 2700 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, Calif., 94025.

A Death Notice in the May 3rd paper mentions her deceased sister, Mary Roethel; she was the sister-in-law of Jane Chistiansen (sic) and aunt of William K. Edick.
