SANDRA GOFF MACKAY

Sandra Goff Mackay, a student at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo and a Bay Area psychologist and educator, died Tuesday at her home in Palo Alto after a brief illness. She was 42.

Mrs. Mackay held a doctorate in community psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and other degrees from Stanford and San Francisco State. She formerly was executive director of Intermediate Technology, a group furthering E. F. Schumacher’s philosophy that “small is beautiful.”

She was born in Southern California.

She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Goff of San Francisco and Lisa Goff of Palo Alto; her mother, Edythe Courtlandt of Palo Alto; and her father, Dr. E. L. Courtlandt of Long Beach.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto.
