BEVERLY R. CARSON
A private service will be held for Beverly R. Carson of San Anselmo, a Marin resident for more than 50 years.
Carson, 66, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Carson was born and raised in Turlock. In 1933, he married his wife, Ruth, in Los Angeles.
The couple lived in Southern California until moving to Marin in 1937.
He worked as a butcher and had his own shop in Fairfax for 17 years. He also worked at several other stores in the county.
Carson was retired.
He was a member of the Lions Club and served at one time as president. He also was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and was at one time president of the Marin County Meat Dealers Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard Carson of Fairfax; two brothers, Stanley Carson of Gustine, Merced County, and Fred J. Carson of Honolulu; and two grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial donations to the Hospice of Marin or a favorite charity.
