RUTH M. DAY
Ruth Minogue Day, former longtime San Rafael resident, died today in a Walnut Creek convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Day was born in Michigan and lived many years in Utah and Alaska before moving to Marin County in 1956. She lived in Marin until three years ago when she went to Walnut Creek.
Mrs. Day was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and worked at one time for the Utah Power and Light Co.
Her husband, Harold C. Day, died in 1977, and one son, Chapin “Chip” Day III, a former Independent-Journal reporter and editor, also died earlier.
Surviving are another son, Harold Day of Moscow, Ida., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek.
