Pioneer of ’40 Dies
Mrs. Rachael A. Perry, who crossed the plains with her parents in 1849, quietly passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stephen R. Coffee, South Sausalito, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the age of 72 years. The remains will be laid away in the family plot in Fulkerson cemetery, Santa Rosa, at one p.m. this afternoon. Mrs. Perry was born in North Carolina in 1846 and came to California a couple of years later. For the past forty years she has made her home principally in Santa Rosa and became endeared to that community.
She was the mother of Mrs. G. B. Storer of New York, Mrs. F. Morrill of Santa Rosa, Mr. F. F. (sic) Fulkerson of San Leandro and Mrs. S. R. Coffee of Sausalito.
Mrs. Perry recently suffered from several paralytic attacks and about a week ago was brought here from Santa Rosa in an ambulance as she felt that the change would be beneficial to her.
