GEORGE D. JENSEN
George Dilworth Jensen, 63, of Sonoma, died on Saturday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Jensen was a native of Logan, Utah, and had lived in the Sonoma area for the past 30 years.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree from Utah State College in Logan and did graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley. He retired in 1976 after teaching English, German and Latin for 24 years at Sonoma Valley Union High School.
He was a member of the North Bay Yacht Club in San Rafael and of the Jonathan Livingston Society. Jensen is survived by his wife, Francine Cottle Jensen; a son, Allen George Jensen of Novato; a sister, Albert Potter of Corte Madera; and a brother, Arthur L. Jensen of Salzburg, Austria.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Sonoma.
