LARY GRABER
Lary Graber of Sausalito, award-winning composer and musical director for the Snake Theater, died Tuesday at the University of California Moffitt Hospital in San Francisco.
Graber, 29, had been hospitalized for several weeks with acute leukemia.
He was one of four principals in the Sausalito-based experimental theater company. His wife, Evie Lewis, is Snake’s choreographer.
Graber won a Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Award for his score for “Auto,” a Snake production staged last year at the abandoned Mohawk Station in Sausalito.
His compositions for “Ride Hard/Die Fast,” the play now touring Europe, also won critical acclaim. He had planned to go to Europe with the company but became ill several days before the tour left the country.
In addition to his wife, He is survived by his infant daughter, Lena; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Graber of Los Angeles; and a brother, David.
