GENEVA CHISM
Geneva E. Chism of Santa Rosa, a 20-year resident of San Rafael, died at a Santa Rosa hospital yesterday after a sudden illness. She was 56 years old.
Mrs. Chism, who worked in many restaurants in San Rafael, moved with her husband to Santa Rosa three years ago when she acquired an interest in a restaurant there.
She was a native of Hillsborough, Tex. The couple came to San Rafael in 1941.
Her husband, Charles W. Chism, who survives her, works at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
The couple’s only child, Raymond Chism, died as a result of an auto accident in Ukiah last year.
Mrs. Chism was stricken at home Wednesday night with a severe headache, the Sonoma County coroner’s office reported. She was taken to a hospital early yesterday and died four hours later. An autopsy was to be performed.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Eggen and Lance Mortuary, Santa Rosa.
