GEORGE W. GREEN of San Francisco died suddenly at the Marin Hotel last Saturday night. The body was taken charge of by coroner Sawyer and an inquest will be held. Death was undoubtedly due to heart trouble.

From a report found in the dead man’s room, it appears that he was a private detective employed to investigate the local saloons. The report was evidently written Saturday evening before he retired. In it he gives the results of his investigations. The document will make interesting reading for some saloonmen in this city, though many of them are given credit for conducting their place very properly. In one place he found gambling and the selling of liquor to drunken men. Intoxicants in another place were also served.
