CHESTER B. PALMER
A funeral service for Chester B. Palmer, a former Marin County resident, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church of San Anselmo.
Palmer died suddenly Thursday in his Sonoma County home. He was 80.
A native of East Sumner, Maine, Palmer lived in Marin from 1949 to 1966. He worked as an engineer with the Army Corps of Engineer[s] and was head of the corps’ soils laboratory in Sausalito when he retired.
Palmer was a graduate of Stanford University.
He is survived by his son, Donald Palmer of Fairfax; a daughter, Linda Young of Davis and four grandchildren.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the husband of the late Frances Palmer.
