JOAN E. KNOLES
Joan E. Knoles, 45, of San Rafael, a dental assistant, died Monday morning at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael.
She was discovered unconscious at her home by a son, Gary Knoles, and was taken to the hospital, where she was dead on arrival, according to the Marin County coroner’s deputies. She had been suffering from intestinal problems, deputies said.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael.

She was born and raised in San Rafael, and survived by her husband, Paul Knoles, and four children, Cary, Matthew, Andrew and Lisa Knoles, all of San Rafael, as well as by her parents, Peter and Pearl Testa, and a brother Kenneth Testa. Burial was in Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Blessed Sacrament church, 160 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael.
