NETTIE H. SCHIEVE
A memorial service for Nettie H. Schieve of San Rafael, a Marin resident for about 40 years, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ross.
Mrs. Schieve died Friday in a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 83.
She was born in San Francisco and lived there until about 1940 when she moved to Marin. While living in San Francisco, she worked for 16 years as an operator for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co.
She was a member of the San Rafael Circle of Druids, No. 137.
Mrs. Schieve is survived by two daughters, Helen L. Ahrens of Kentfield and Alwyn Gould of Meadow Vista, Placer County; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the grandmother of James Ahrens of Tiburon and Robert Ahrens of Rockland, Calif., and Joann Harding of Citrus Heights.
