LOUIS DeGHELDER

At his request, no funeral will be held for Louis DeGhelder, longtime Stinson Beach resident and community leader.

DeGhelder, 80, died Monday at his home after suffering a heart attack.

DeGhelder had moved to Stinson Beach from Woodland more that 30 years ago. He was known in the community as “Mr. Fix It” and worked in carpentry, plumbing and electrical fixtures.

DeGhelder was a member of the fire department and had served on the Stinson Beach Fire Protection District Board of Directors along with the water district board.

In Woodland, DeGhelder had operated a refrigeration business for many years. He was past commander of the American Legion post there and was a Scottish Rite Mason.

His wife, Clara, preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Audre Champlin of Petaluma, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
