Death Takes Former San Rafael Resident
Funeral services were held here Tuesday for Nicholas Moran, son of a well known pioneer family of whom he was the sole survivor.
He was taken suddenly ill Thursday of last week at Shilling, in Trinity County, where he was employed as guard at a road camp of Folsom prisoners working on the State Highway.
He was removed immediately to a Redding Hospital where an operation was performed for appendicitis. He passed away Friday.
For many years the deceased was an employee here of the Marin Water and Power Company, and he had hosts of friends. He had been employed as a guard at Folsom for the past two or three years.
He was the son of the late Peter Moran and brother of the late Peter Moran, Jr., and was a cousin of Mrs. J. Ray Keaton.
Services were held at St. Raphael’s church and burial was made by the F. E. Sawyer company in Mount Olivet cemetery in the family plot.
