THOMAS R. McGRATH Sr.
Thomas R. McGrath Sr., 84, of San Rafael, retired clerical supervisor at Hunter’s Point shipyards, died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness.
McGrath retired 20 years ago after working at the shipyards for 25 years. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
He was a native of Oakland, who had been a resident of Marin for more than 50 years.
Surviving are a son, Thomas R. McGrath Jr., and a daughter, Trudy McGrath, both of San Rafael; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael’s Church, San Rafael. Entombment will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at Monte’s Mission Chapel, San Rafael. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent’s School for Boys, Marinwood.
