‘MIKE’ RACKERBY
Mass of Christian Burial has been offered at Our Lady of Loretto Church for Robert ‘Mike’ Rackerby who died April 1 in a skin-diving accident at Fort Bragg.
A report in last week’s Advance stated Rackerby drowned after becoming entangled in seaweed but actual cause of the drowning has not been determined. He was abalone hunting at the time.
Rackerby, 23, was a graduate of San Marin High School and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. He lived in Novato since the age of 10 and attended Our Lady of Loretto grade school.
He was employed as a diesel mechanic for the John Tait Company in Sonoma and was engaged to marry Christine Crinklaw.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Rackerby of Novato; three sisters, Joan, Nancy and Wendy Rackerby, all of Novato; two brothers, Daniel and John Rackerby of Novato; and his grandmother, Estelle Rackerby of Yuba City.
Burial was at Bahia Valley Memorial Park. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Robert Michael Rackerby Memorial Fund, care of the Bank of America, Novato.
