ALBERT YOUNG
Graveside services were held Saturday at Bahia Valley Memorial Park for Albert Young, long-time Novatan who died Wednesday afternoon at his home at 501 Canyon Road following a lengthy illness. He was 80.
Young was born March 13, 1898 in Halsingland, Sweden and served in the Swedish Army before coming to the United States in 1921 to join a brother who was then living in Jopland, Missouri. Young worked thee in the mines for some years before moving to the Bary area in 1927.
He worked in the Bay area as a bartender and was a member of the Bartenders and Culinary Workers No. 126 of San Rafael. In 1939 he married Linnea Olson in Reno, Nevada.
They moved to Novato in 1938 and purchased a chicken ranch on Canyon Road. Young operated the ranch for some years and was a member of the Poultry Producers Association. In recent years he had been involved in management of various properties he owned.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Anna Flynn, Cattarina van den Toorn and Jone Bondoc, all of Novato; a sister, Elrna Ehrnlof, of Sweden and nine grandchildren.
