MYRNA K. BERGERSON
No service is planned for Myrna K. Bergerson, a tenant commissioner of the Marin County Housing Authority.
Mrs. Bergerson, 82, died Monday following a short illness.
A resident of the Golden Hinde senior complex in Terra Linda, Mrs. Bergerson worked on behalf of the senior community in the areas of housing and utility costs.
Mrs. Bergerson was a commissioner of the Housing Authority since 1976, but her interest in affordable housing predate her appointment to the commission by the board of supervisors.
Continually outraged by utility costs, Mrs. Bergerson was a proponent of the “lifeline” rates adopted by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in 1975. At the time of her illness. she was working on a petition which asked that utility rate increase requests be limited to one a year.
Mrs. Bergerson moved to Marin County in 1939 and lived in Fairfax with her late husband. She is survived by her son, Robert “Bud” Keyes, of Rohnert Park.
