BERNICE H. TERRY
Funeral was held this afternoon at Williams and Heffernan Mortuary in San Rafael for Bernice Howard Terry, former Novato school teacher who died Sunday in Sacramento County. She was 66.
Mrs. Terry, who made her home in San Rafael, was the widow of John G. Terry, a former teacher at the San Rafael Military Academy.
She taught in the Novato Unified School District from 1950 to 1972 when she retired.
She was a graduate of Fresno State University and a member of the California Retired Teachers Association, the National Retired Teachers Association, the American Association of University Women, the United Presbyterian W omen’s Association and the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Tait of Fair Oaks, Sacramento County; and three brothers and a grandson.
Entombment will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Marin Art and Garden Center are preferred by the family.
