HERBERT DEARDORFF
Funeral for Herbert B. Deardorff of Kentfield, a retired mechanic, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
Deardorff, 60, collapsed outside his home at 1109 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard early Sunday and was found dead by a neighbor. The Marin County coroner’s Office said he had been ill.
Ill health forced Deardorff to quit work 15 years ago.
Born in Adrian, Mo., Deardorff lived in Wichita, Kan., and Pueblo, Colo., before moving to Marin County in 1948.
Survivors are his mother, Clara Holland of Colorado; a daughter, Janene Downing of San Rafael; a brother, Homer Pitt of Arizona; four sisters, Jeanitta Saindon of Sunnyvale, Betty Jo Deardorff, Maxine Bartleson and Louise Rayburn, all of Colorado, and two grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Marin County Heart Association.
