Sister M. Hilary Sampson, O.P.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Sister M. Hilary Sampson will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1987 at the Rosary Chapel, Dominican Convent in San Rafael. Sister Sampson died Saturday, Dec. 19 at Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary, San Rafael. She was 71.

She was a native of Pittsburgh. She was an elementary school teacher and a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic Congregation of the Most Holy Name since 1937.

She spent several years as a patient in tuberculosis sanitoria in Southern California and Ross General Hospital in Marin.

Later, she did bookkeeping and general office work in Dominican Schools in Benicia, San Francisco and Vallejo, and at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno.

She retired in 1978 because of illness.

She had no known survivors.

The Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. today at the Dominican Convent Chapel. Burial will be at St. Dominic’s Cemetery in Benecia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary, in care of Dominican Convent, 1520 Grand Ave., San Rafael.
