G. VON DER WERTH
Funeral was held yesterday at Redwood Chapel for Gordon von der Werth who died Saturday in a local hospital at the age of 69.
He was a native of Portland, Ore., and lived there as a child, moving to San Francisco when he was a youth.
He operated the von der Werth Inc., business in Greenbrae for many years specializing in redwood shakes and later fencing. He retired five years ago and he and his wife, Rose, made their home on von der Werth Lane in the Black Point area.
He was a member of the Marin County Taxpayers Association and a former member of the Marin Rod and Gun Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Albert von der Werth Jr., of Mill Valley; a sister, Barbara Kounik, of Encino, Los Angeles County; and his stepmother, Mrs. Albert von der Werth Sr., of Mill Valley.
Burial was at Bahia Valley Memorial Park.
