LOUIS SCURINI
Louis Scurini, a former Novato resident, was found dead Thursday in a rooming house near Honolulu, according to Honolulu police.
Scurini, 24, was a seaman on the Pacific Far East Lines passenger ship Mariposa.
Also found dead in the same room was David Huertas, 23, of Daly City, a cousin of Scurini’s who was a seaman on the same ship.
Cause of death is pending a laboratory report, according to police, who say they also found a hypodermic syringe in the room.
Scurini was a native of San Francisco and lived in Novato for several years before moving back to San Francisco last year.
He was the son of the late Louis and Lorraine Scurini.
Surviving are a son, Louis; two brothers, Charles and Gino, both of Sebastopol; and a sister, Gail Scurini, of Novato.
Funeral for both young men was to be held this week in South San Francisco.
