LOUISE DIEFENDORF
Private family services have been held for Louise Diefendorf, former Novato resident, who died Wednesday at a local hospital at the age of 95.
A native of Erie, Pa., she grew up there and worked as a school teacher until her retirement in 1946.
She moved to San Rafael in 1948 after the death of her husband, Edward G. Diefendorf who had been an engineer for General Electric.
Mrs. Diefendorf moved to Novato in 1971 and lived here until a few months ago when she went to Sonoma to make her home with a granddaughter.
She had been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 50 years and belonged to the Sequoia Chapter of the organization in San Francisco.
Surviving are a son, John E. Diefendorf of Novato; two daughters, Louise Wockenfuss of Dorrington, Calaveras County, and Dorothy Ranous of Madison, Wis.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to a favorite charity are preferred by the family.
