OPEL W. COLLIER
Opel W. Collier of Sonoma, mother of Zolia Schoenbrun of Belvedere, died yesterday in a San Francisco hospital after a long illness. She was 77.
A native of Oklahoma, she had lived in Sonoma since 1970 and was a 30-year California resident. She was a member of the Altar Guild of Trinity Episcopal Church, Sonoma, the Sonoma Valley Women’s Club, the Sonoma Valley Country Club Bridge Section and was a past Worthy High Priest of the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 13 in Santa Ana, Orange County.
In addition to her daughter, survivors include her husband, Zadik Collier of Sonoma, a sister, Mable Mixon of Arkansas, and two brothers, Edward Wells of Paradise, Butte County, and Burt Wells of Oregon. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
Funeral will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, Sonoma, followed by burial at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
