ARNOLD MONACO
Arnold Monaco of San Rafael, former owner of the Victoria Pastry Co. in San Francisco died yesterday at the local hospital after a long illness. He was 84.
A native of Switzerland, Monaco came to San Francisco in 1907 where he owned and operated the pastry company for 30 years. He moved to his daughter’s house in San Rafael 18 years ago.
Besides his work as a baker, Monaco devoted much time to painting, mostly in oils.
He is survived by two daughters, Adele Stewart of San Rafael, and Elaine Borelli of Stockton; a son, Arnold R. Monaco of Los Gatos; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private funeral was held yesterday. Burial was at the Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
The family is asking memorial contributions to be [to the] American Heart Association.
