CHARLES PRINS
Private funeral services for Charles Prins of San Rafael were held yesterday.
Prins, 95, died yesterday in a retirement home in Sonoma.
He was born in The Hague, Holland, and came to San Francisco shortly after the earthquake in 1906. He was manager of operations in the seven Western states for Conso in San Francisco for 45 years. The company manufactures tassels and other trimmings, including the gold tassels on the original curtain in the War Memorial Opera House.
He moved to Marin County in 1958 and worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross at Hamilton Air Force Base for 10 years after his retirement. He was a member of the Masons in San Francisco for 48 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherrill Press of San Rafael and Patricia Hamill of Petaluma, and two grandchildren.
Burial was private.
