MARY LIGHTBODY
Mary E. Lightbody, longtime San Anselmo resident, died Saturday in a local convalescent home after a lengthy illness. She was 84.
Mrs. Lightbody was a native of San Francisco and had lived in Marin 32 years.
She was the wife of Clyde Lightbody, retired editor of trade newspapers in San Francisco.
Mrs. Lightbody was noted for her needlework and during World War II, she was cited by the Coast Guard for the articles she made for that ranch of the service.
She also was a past president of the Tamalpais Center Women’s Club in Kentfield.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Carolyn Nelson, also of San Anselmo.
Private funeral was held today.
