THOMAS R. CLARK
Thomas R. Clark of Belvedere, a former executive for two Midwestern firms, died yesterday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Clark, 82, was a native of Illinois who moved to Marin County in 1961 after retiring as vice president of the Omaha Steel Works. Earlier he was an executive of the Caterpillar Tractor Co., where he worked for 20 years.
During World War II, Clark served as a major in the Army Corps of Engineers, overseeing tractor production at another Midwestern tractor company for the government. He was a graduate of Dartmouth and Knox colleges.
Clark was a director and early member of the Belvedere Tennis Club and was active in the group until recently.
He also was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Belvedere.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ellen Clark of Belvedere; a son, James W. Clark of Belvedere and two grandsons, Darrith E. and James J. Clark, both of Belvedere.
No funeral will be held at Clark’s request.
