CHESTER A. LEATHERWOOD
At his request, no funeral will be held for Chester A. Leatherwood of San Rafael.
Leatherwood died at his home Saturday after a long illness. He was 63.
Leatherwood was born in Nederland, Texas. He served for six years in the Navy and in the Merchant Marine during World War II before coming to Marin in 1947.
He was last employed with the Oakland Naval Supply Depot. He was a member of the San Rafael chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Leatherwood helped build the home he shared with his wife of 20 years, Esther C. Leatherwood of San Rafael.
He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Crane of Nederland, and Helen Craig of Kilgore, Texas; and three brothers, Carl E. Leatherwood of Birmingham, Ala., J. H. (Ted) Leatherwood of Grove, Tex., and Robert L. Leatherwood of Pittsburgh, Pa.
The family prefers memorial contributions to Hospice of Marin.
