JANET McINNES HOUSTON
Graveside services for Janet McInnes Houston of San Anselmo were to be held today at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma.
Mrs. Houston, a five-year resident of Marin, died in a local hospital Monday after a short illness. She was 81.
Mrs. Houston was born in San Francisco and spent most of her life in the Bay Area. She retired from the Emporium Capwell Co. in 1961 after 17 years as an accounting clerk in San Francisco.
Since retirement, Mrs. Houston was a homemaker and spent much of her time crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Kelso of San Anselmo; two sons, Duncan Houston of San Anselmo and David Houston of Kentfield; and seven granddaughters. Mrs. Houston’s husband, David Houston, a San Francisco grocer, died in 1961.
Burial will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.
