Prominent San Quentin Woman Dead
Mrs. J. B. Pullen Succumbs To Heart Trouble On Monday

After an illness of but two or three days, Mrs. Julia B. Pullen, one of San Quentin’s oldest and most highly respected residents, passed away of heart trouble at her home in San Quentin last Monday. Her death was a shock to all who knew her.

Mrs. Pullen was a native of England and was fifty nine years of age. She is survived by her husband, Col. Pullen, who is master mechanic at San Quentin Prison.

The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Sawyer’s undertaking parlors in this city. Services were conducted at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Reverend Cutting officiating. Interment was in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.

Mrs. Pullen came to this county over twenty years ago. Since coming here she had made her home in San Quentin.
