Stricken With Death at Steering Wheel

Captain George Madison, who was stricken with sudden death Sunday while driving his automobile to the railway station in Ross, was buried Tuesday afternoon in Cypress Lawn cemetery, San Mateo.

Captain Madison, retired businessman and respected resident of his community, had left home to meet Mrs. Madison, who was coming from San Francisco on the train. As he neared the station several persons noticed that his machine seemed to be acting in a queer manner. Fire Chief Joseph Green rushed out and leaped into the automobile, which was moving slowly in a circle, and stopped it. Then turning his attention to the driver, he found that Mr. Madison had fallen over the steering wheel and was unconscious.

Mr. Green then proceeded with the Madison machine and its occupant to Hund’s Sanitarium. Physicians pronounced Mr. Madison dead, and the remains were removed to Coroner Sawyer’s office.

The deceased leaves a widow to mourn his loss.
