JACK D. BERMAN
Jack Donald Berman of Mill Valley, an executive with a San Francisco design firm, died yesterday of an apparent heart attack.
Berman, 48, was found in the swimming pool of his home.
He was vice president in charge of sales with Walter Landor and Associates, an industrial design firm in San Francisco.
A longtime Marin County resident, he lived in San Rafael before moving to Mill Valley a few years ago.
He served in the Army before going to work for the Central Intelligence Agency as a cryptographer. He received a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Cincinnati after his service in the CIA.
Berman also worked as a stockbroker and analyst in San Francisco for several years before joining the Landor firm.
He is survived by his stepmother, Betty Berman of Chicago; a sister, Shirlee Bloom of San Francisco, and two sons, Richard and Donald Berman of Mill Valley.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
