JAMES V. CAPPE Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held today at Mission San Rafael for James V. Cappe Sr., retired contractor.

Cappe, 82, died Wednesday in his San Rafael home.

He was born in Italy. When he was 18, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he worked as a carpenter and contractor. He had lived in Marin two years.

Cappa (sic) served in the Army in World War I and was a past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Cleveland.

He is survived by two sons, Michael A. Cappe, a San Rafael real estate broker, and James V. Cappe Jr., a Tiburon contractor, and a brother, Nicole Cappe of Italy.

Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

The family prefers contributions to St. Raphael’s Church or the Veteran of Foreign Wars Service Fund, 1521 I Street, Sacramento, 95813.

A Death Notice in the same paper says that James Vincent Cappe Sr. was the husband of the late Rose Cappe, father of James V. Jr. and Michael Cappe, and brother of Nicola Coppolechia, grandfather of three, and uncle of Catherina Della Donna.
