JOHN R. PITSKER

A memorial service for John R. Pitsker, associate minister of Family Church of Marin, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church in Oakland.

Pitsker, 78, a business management consultant died Monday at Meadowlark Farm in Hemet, Riverside County, after an illness.

Pitsker had been a resident of Marin for about 10 years before he moved to Oakland in 1963. He continued to serve the church in Marin after leaving the county.

Pitsker was a leader and associate of the Camps Farthest Out, an international nondenominational association, for many years and was known to many young people as “Grandpa” Pitsker.

Pitsker also was associated with the California Interfaith Youth Camp for many years and was on the board at Meadowlark Farm, a holistic medicine treatment center.

He was a native of Kensico, N.Y.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy B. Pitsker, nine sons, two daughters, 33 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the California Interfaith Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 549, Ross, Caliaf. 94957.
