RUTH M. KROUGH
A private funeral will be held Friday in San Francisco for Ruth M. Krough of Greenbrae, a 27-year resident of Marin.
Mrs. Krough, 81, died Friday at a Greenbrae retirement home after a brief illness.
She was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and moved to Marin 27 years ago, where she lived in San Rafael, San Anselmo and Greenbrae.
Four years ago she moved to The Tamalpais retirement residence in Greenbrae.
Her husband, Army Col. George M. Krough, died in 1950.
An avid sportswoman, Mrs. Krough won many amateur golf tournaments. She also enjoyed horseback riding.
Mrs. Krough also was an accomplished musician. She played piano and was a church organist.
She was a former member of the Tamalpais Women’s Center and St. Anne’s Guild of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, San Rafael.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean K. Augsburger of San Francisco, and two grandsons.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the mother of the late George R. Krough, and grandmother of Russell J. and Robert A. Augsburger. Burial was at the San Francisco National Cemetery, Presidio.
