Mrs. L. J. Allen, mother of R. F. Allen, who recently disposed of his newspaper agency here, passed away at her home in Salinas last week at the age of 78 years. The burial was made in Berkeley Saturday. Besides her son here, she is survived by another son, C. E. Allen of Salinas, and a daughter, Mrs. M. B. Bornbeck, in Berkeley.
