BERTON B. NAGLEY
A memorial service for former radio announcer Berton Bennett Nagley of Tiburon will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Hilary’s Church in Tiburon.
Nagley, who used the name Berton Bennett during a show business career that spanned 30 years, died Aug. 2 at age 74.
Nagley was born in Tacoma, Wash., and got his first radio job as a singer while in college in Seattle.
He also sang in musical comedies, appeared in several movies, and worked as a radio announcer for KGO in San Francisco until retiring in 1952.
Thereafter, he remained active in community theater.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen, and a stepson, Gordon Carlson of Oroville.
