Sausalito Woman Takes Life While Despondent

Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Powell, wife of Benjamin J. Powell, Sausalito carpenter, ended her life last Sunday morning by shooting herself in the temple with a .32 caliber revolver.

According to reports Mrs. Powell, 30 years of age, had been on the verge of a nervous breakdown for a week previous to the tragedy. She was noticeable quiet and morose Sunday morning, and when her husband went to the garage she entered the basement. A few moments later Powell heard a shot and entering the basement, he found his wife dead.

The funeral was held yesterday, with services at the residence, and burial, under the direction of the F. E. Sawyer Company, at Cypress Lawn.
