ROSE ARRIGONI
Rose Marie Arrigoni, lifelong Fairfax resident and mother of Marin County Supervisor Peter R. Arrigoni, died today at her home after a lengthy illness. She was 65.
Mrs. Arrigoni was born in San Francisco but came to Marin County with her parents when she was a baby.
In 1929, she married Peter S. Arrigoni, an Italian immigrant who had fled the fascist regime in his country. For many years he owned and operated New Joe’s Restaurant in San Francisco.
Mrs. Arrigoni was a member of St. Rita’s Parish in Fairfax and the Italian Catholic Federation.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Peter, who lives in Fairfax, and Robert V. Arrigoni of Nicasio; two brothers, Frank Divita of Fairfax and Fred Divita of San Anselmo; a sister, Rita Burrafato of Fairfax, and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Rita’s Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Friends may all at the Chapel of the Hills after 6 p.m. today.
The family prefers memorial contributions to St. Rita’s Church or the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma County.
