Mrs. Kirby Dies At Daughter’s Home
After an illness of eight weeks, Mrs. Ellen D. Kirby, widow of the late Charles F. Kirby and former resident for many years of San Rafael, passed away Saturday last at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred T. Knowles, in San Francisco.
Mr. and Mrs. Kirby had resided in San Rafael for about 10 years previous to the death of Mr. Kirby last October, when Mrs. Kirby went to San Francisco to make her home with her daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Kirby had made many friends in San Rafael during their residence here. Mrs. Kirby is survived by her son, Charles F. Kirby Jr., and her daughter. The funeral was held Tuesday of this week in San Francisco. Rev. Herbert Thomson, pastor of the Presbyterian church here, of which Mrs. Kirby was a member, officiated.
