JAMES MARFARLANE (sic)
James Macfarlane of Mill Valley, 64, died yesterday in a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.
A native of Scotland, he had lived in Marin since 1962. He resided at 4 St. Jude Road.
Marfarlane (sic) was a retired civil engineer, and worked for 40 years for the federal government.
He was a member of Parnassus-Presidio Lodge No. 388 of the Free and Accepted Masons, San Francisco.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Ian C. Macfarlane of Reno; a daughter, Joy Marfarland (sic) Lang of San Rafael; a sister, Mrs. Hugh Montgomery of Glasgow, Scotland; and two grandchildren.
Private family services were held today at Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, San Anselmo. His family asked that memorial contributions go to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, San Francisco.
