Well Known Mariner Dies At Belvedere
Captain Erick Edwin Johnson, for many years skipper of the Cazadera, Northern Pacific ferryboat, passed away at his home in Belvedere early Monday morning from a sudden illness.
He had been on duty Sunday and had felt no symptoms of illness until some hours after his arrival at his home.
Captain Johnson was one of the best known of the bay mariners, having been with the Northwestern Pacific Company for 33 years. He was a member of t he Masters, Mates and Pilots of the Pacific and of the Swedish society. He was 66 years old and a native of Sweden.
A widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson and a son, Osborn Johnson, survive him.
The funeral was held in San Francisco this afternoon from the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran church.
