RUSSELL HALEY
Mass of Christian Burial for Russell Haley, longtime resident of Point Reyes Station, will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Sacred Heart Church, Olema.
Haley, 79, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was born and reared in Floyd County, Iowa, and had worked as a farmer there until moving to Point Reyes Station in 1945.
Haley had worked on several ranches in West Marin and Sonoma and also worked 10 years as a laborer before his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Laborers, Construction and General Hodcarriers Union, Local 291 of San Rafael.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Schneider Haley, a daughter, Viola Clapp, a son, Melvin Haley, all of Point Reyes Station; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. today at the Sorensen Funeral Home, Petaluma. Burial will be at Olema Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the building fund at Sacred Heart Church.
