Vincent Liberty Dies In Contra Costa
Many residents of Marin county will learn with regret of the death in Concord, Contra Costa county, last Tuesday of Vincent Liberty, known to many hundreds of Marin county and San Francisco people was the host at “Liberty’s,” a famous resort of the old days on the Bolinas Ridge road above Fairfax.
Many and noted were the barbecues given at Liberty’s in past years, and they were affairs that are still recalled with pleasure by the men and women who attended them. The old ranch house, now little better than a ruin, in its best days was made attractive by the addition of a large dance platform.
Liberty, aged 79 years, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Liberty, and daughter, Mrs. C. H. Keller, of Clayton. The funeral took place this morning and the remains were brought to San Rafael for burial in Mount Tamalpais cemetery.
