Aged Man Passes After Brief Illness
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at St. Raphael’s church for Jeremiah McCarthy, for more that 35 years a well known and highly respected resident of San Rafael.
He passed away last Tuesday after a brief illness. McCarthy was in charge of the old San Quentin toll road more than a quarter of a century ago.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary McCarthy, and a son, Joseph R. McCarthy, now residing at Venice in Southern California. The deceased was 76 years of age.
Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery under the direction of the F. E. Sawyer Company.
